Winter Recreation in the Pacific Northwest
Three weeks ago we rode this chute on Mt. St. Helens I"ve been looking at for years. Even though the visibility wasn't optimal we sqeezed out the lemonade and got gnarly anyway.
The climb even got kind of interesting!
A short body rappell gained us access to the coulior.
Two weeks ago we went to Pollalie Canyon on Mt. Hood's north side. It was really good powder, and a beautiful day. Pollalie Falls was frozen and really wanted to be climbed, too bad we were just skiing!
Brad likes his potato chips, he also tunes your skis here at Next Adventure.
Some fresh mountain water.
That weekend was the 2nd annual Oregon Splitboard Festival. We raised $1,200 for Northwest Weather and Avalanche and I rode this sweet line!
Last week we went rock climbing at Smith Rock State Park. We climbed the 2 pitch 5.7 Cinnoman Slab, did a double 70m rope rappell off the other side, and then climbed the 2 pitch 5.8 Spiderman.
Two days ago we scored great powder in Salmon River Canyon. We made multiple laps and a perfect skin track.
Today I rode one of the best runs I've had in recent memory. A 30 minute hike from the top of Mt. Baker Ski Area brought me to "The Beast" on the Shuksan Arm. I shredded down the spine just to the lookers' left. I was the only track anywhere near. Sorry there are no pictures of this one, it will be my own special moment.Maybe next week i'll sleep in on my days off...Yeah RIGHT!
