Snowboard Mountaineering Mt. Hood- Newton Clark Headwall Funnel

I did this run 2 days in a row. That made 3 Wy'east climbs in the last 7 days for me. My legs are a little bit sore, but that's how you know they're working.

First day I had this dude with me. He did a great job guarding the van while I was climbing.

Here is a close up of the line. You drop from the summit ridge making exposed turns above the diagonal cliffs, the funnel heads skier's left, and a chute cuts through the cliff band. (File photos)

The snow is awesome on the volcanoes right now. Soft, edgeable fast corn snow all the way down to treeline. The myth about hanging up the boards for the season has been busted. This is Oregon's time to shine!
