Full Review: The Gerber Sport Axe II is great for packing into the woods or even using around your house if you have a fire place. It has a forged steel head making it very durable and low friction coating on the blade for clean easy slicing. The handle on the Sport Axe is constructed with a lightweight glass filled nylon handle that acts as a shock absorber. The handle also prevents overstriking. The Sport Axe is durable and lightweight making it optimal for small to medium sized jobs. Gerber didn't forget about safety either; the Sport Axe comes with a cover for the blade so it can be transported safely.

The Good List: Easy to pack, the low friction coating allows for clean cuts, and the handle is very shock absorbant.

The Not so Good List: The handle could use a little more grip, but it's still not that bad.

The Bottom Line: The perfect tool for any recreational campfire.
