The Full Review:
This tent is BIG. Big enough to stand up in (I’m 5’8), and definitely big enough for six people. My family bought this tent last year as a new family car camping tent and it definitely fits the bill. Despite how big the footprint is, it packs into a relatively small and light bag along with the rainfly, poles, and stakes. This is one of the first car-camping tents I’ve owned that I can actually easily fit back into the bag without having to re-fold it multiple times. It doesn’t take up much room in the car, is easy to transport, and still fits the whole gang!
Despite being so big, the North Six is really easy to set up and take down. I can set it up by myself in less than ten minutes - the design is very conducive to only having one person. I’d recommend also getting the Wilderness Technology North Six Footprint - sized exactly to the tent and much lighter than a tarp. Given how portable and cost-effective this tent is, it’s not a bad choice for smaller groups that want extra room as well. I’ve camped in it with four people, and it’s comfortably a bit roomy. We got rained on one night, and the fly kept us nice and dry. The only drawback of the fly, though, was that it was hard to get it to be tight enough so that rain would roll off. We didn’t get wet, but it would be better if the fly were a bit better sized to the tent.
The Good:
Easy to set up, lightweight, affordable
The Bad:
Rain fly is difficult to pull tight
The Bottom Line:
An excellent car camping tent!
