Gear Review: Wilderness Technology Lightweight Dry Bag

Value Rating: 10 Durability Rating: 8 Overall Rating: 9 Location of Test: All over the place Duration of Test: 2 months Product Name: Lightweight Dry Bag Product Brand: Wilderness Technology Best Use: Take-Everywhere Multi-Purpose Sizes: 7L, 20L, 40L, 50L Coated Ripstop Nylon Wilderness Technology Lightweight Dry Bag The Full Review: These Lightweight Dry Bags from Wilderness Technology are my new favorite thing. I never knew how much I needed one and now I want fifty of the little buggers. They're made of a coated rip-stop nylon and come in a variety of sizes. I've got the 20L and the 40L and have found them to be extraordinarily useful. Wilderness Technology Lightweight Dry Bag These bags are great at keeping the stuff inside them dry. I grab the 20L bag when I'm headed down to the river on one of those unbearable 90+ degree days. I can easily fit my pack towel, clothes, phone and keys inside. When the bag is rolled and clipped the top of the bag forms a little handle loop, making the whole thing easy to carry. Also, the bag is bright yellow- making it easy to spot from the water when you're checking to make sure no one's messing with your stuff. Wilderness Technology Lightweight Dry Bag These bags are also great at keeping the stuff outside them dry. Easily fit your wetsuit inside the 40L and then toss that in your backpack or the back of your car without getting everything else wet and sandy. These have also been great for dirty dishes/cooking stuff when camping or picnicking. These bags also handle trash duty like a champ. Even wet/gross garbage stays contained. Anyhow, these bags pack down small and are so inexpensive and useful that I think everyone should have a couple in their car/closet/backpack at all times.
The Good: Packs down small, inexpensive, lightweight, and super handy. The Bad: Long term durability concern. Rip-stop nylon isn't as durable as PVC but is much lighter. So, I guess it's a trade-off. The Bottom Line: These bags are infinitely useful and affordable. I'm gonna need a few more.
