Gear Review: Thera Cane Self-Massage Device

Value Rating: 10 Durability Rating: 10 Overall Rating: 10 Location of Test: The Theracane can be used anywhere Duration of Test: 3 months Product Name: Thera Cane Best Use: Post-activity recovery Thera Cane Thera Cane The Full Review: We've all gotten home from that climbing, skiing, surfing, you name it trip with a nasty knot in your back, or sore thighs, or various other ailments. We try rolling on tennis balls, reaching back at awkward angles, and a variety of other strategic but unsuccessful maneuvers to massage our ailing body parts. Enter the Thera Cane. A green piece of plastic that curls at one end with six balls placed on various points throughout, this thing works wonders. I was originally prompted to get one after a co-worker took me dry tooling for the first time and I spent three days walking funny. The hand grips sticking out from the lower part of the Thera Cane allow the user to hook the other end around their side, over their shoulder, or in a variety of other positions and leverage various knobs into their body, providing relief from even the deepest and worst of knots. The incredible leverage the user has allows them to work the cane up and down with incredible precision, pinpointing the source of the pain and quickly relieving it. I frequently find myself watching TV or reading after a long day skiing with my Thera Cane in hand, loosening up my tight muscles. Honestly, the best thing about the Thera Cane is the simplicity and ease of use. The website, theracane.com, has a page where users can find a list of all the ways it can be used, although most owners find a few that work and stick with those. Thera Canes make a great gift for anyone who participates in any sort of activity that's hard on the body--they're something I think everyone should own. Whether it's painful shoulders, knots in your back, tweaked necks, or sore thighs, the Thera Cane can help. The Good So SO easy to use, works wonders The Bad: Literally nothing The Bottom Line: Do your body a favor and pick one up
