The Full Review:
I was pleasantly surprised when I hopped on this SUP for the first time. This SUP glides through the water with ease!
I was with two other people paddling and I needed half as many strokes to keep at the same pace. Another thing that I was happy about was that I didn’t spend a lot of time performing corrective strokes because this board can hold a very straight line in the water.
Though this board was designed for touring, I did have quite a bit of fun doing pivot turns on such a long board. The 11ft model offers a bit more maneuverability than the 12ft 6inch paddleboard.
I did find that this board felt a bit more "tippy" compared to other stand up paddleboards I have used. It has a displacement hull which allows it to slice through the water, but this also reduces stability. If you have good balance this isn’t much of a concern, but for those who are new to the sport, I would suggest demoing one of these before you buy one.
The Good
Fast!
Tracks Straight!
Lightweight!
Great for Touring!
Displacment hull!
The Bad:
"Tippy" or unstable
The Bottom Line:
This SUP rocks! I really felt like I got the flow of paddling with this board and got a great workout. I hate paddling boards that feel like a small barge and this was nothing close to that. If you want to do some exploratory paddling up calm rivers or big lakes this is the board for you! You will love the smooth feel of this SUP!
