DIY Camp Towel Baby Bib aka The Sam-Wow Drool Buster!
Brenda from Next Adventure goes head to head in the battle against baby drool, unleashing her new secret weapon - the Sam-Wow! If you’ve got a drooler on your hands this might be the most important and life-changing thing you read – for at least the next five minutes!
This project was super simple. I simply traced a bib I already had, cut it out, sewed on a snap on the back to keep it on, and good to go! *A caution about the DIY: I used a red sharpie to trace. Sharpie does not hold up to drool so some of the pen rubbed off onto Arlen's neck. I was going to decorate it with a fabric pen (something like "Boys Drool") but Arlen barfed on it before I got a chance!
I can tell you, Arlen is a serious drooler and this thing worked great! With his constant stream of drool, the Sam-Wow easily kept up. Almost better than the other traditional bibs I use. And when he spit up, it immediately sucked up the extra moisture and made for less of a mess. Unlike normal bibs, which allow drool and spit up to roll down the bib as it soaks in (and sometimes off the bib onto clothes), the Sam-Wow bib stopped that drool in its tracks. The best part was, I took it off to change him, and it had dried by the time I was done so I didn't need to pull out another clean, dry bib.
Another cool factor is Sam-Wow’s are machine washable but need to be air dried. Drying them in a dryer can ruin the absorptive quality. But they air dry really fast!
Bonus: The Sam-Wow is $2.99, and you could make at least 4 bibs per sheet - you can't buy quality bibs for anywhere near that price!
